This extreme dagger is massive, wickedly sharp, and heavy duty.
I started with 3/16” thick 80CRV2 high carbon steel, grinding in the long fuller on both sides of the 12” blade. The brass guard is nearly 1/2” thick, and pinned in place with three stainless steel pins that have been peened to lock them in. The scales are black G10, with a blue then black liner, with brass counterbalance weights at the pommel end, shaped into a coffin shape. The brass pommel pieces are ground at a 45 degree angle up under the G10 scales. The brass pins affixing it are also peened into place.
handle construction is exposed tang, with the steel tang sitting slightly proud of the scales.
The sheath is a heavy-duty 9oz thick leather that comes with two different attachment frogs. One has a belt loop, the other has the more traditional belt stud to slide the entire sheath into your belt.
it also comes with the pictured wooden stand, that is also coffin shaped. The sheath hangs on the back of the stand.
the balance point is on the forward edge of the handguard, so though this dagger is stout, it is perfectly balanced at the hilt.
